USO-Metro Welcomes Families to Fort Belvoir’s Castle Park for Mid-Summer Blast
The USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir hosted families at Fort Belvoir’s gorgeous Castle Park for a mid-summer celebration with activities ranging from kayaking to moon bounce and more.
USO-Metro volunteers and staff joined forces with volunteers from Heroes on the Water - George Washington Chapter, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) and other partners to make it a memorable day for military families.
“We just have a blast coming out and paddling the kids around,” Karl Shwartz with Heroes on the Water said, “Most of the [volunteers] are vets themselves and they’re looking forward to giving back.”
Approximately two hundred active duty and their families joined the celebration for some fun in the sun.
The USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir wants to give a special thanks to the partnering organizations for their continued support.
