Get involved with USO-Metro this holiday season!
Believe it or not, the holidays are just around the corner! Our team of USO-Metro elves have been working hard behind the scenes to make this holiday season merry and bright for our local military families, and we need your help! We have compiled a list of four ways that you can give back to those that serve this holiday season. Join us in thanking our military and their families for their dedicated service to our nation during the holiday season!
1. Help bring holiday cheer to a military family’s tree
Donate to our holiday wishlist!
Active duty military members and their families will have the opportunity to visit a tree farm where they will be able to pick and cut their own tree! In addition to receiving a tree and participating in festive activities, USO-Metro hopes to provide each family with a gift bag filled with tree trimmings and holiday cheer! Help us fill our military families’ trees with cheer by donating through our holiday wishlist. Please place your order by Wednesday, November 14, 2018!
2. Donate to our Turkeys For Troops Telethon
Click here to donate to our Turkeys for Troops Telethon!
This holiday season, USO-Metro is honored to say “Thank You!” to local military families by providing holiday meal boxes through our Turkeys for Troops program! We are excited to invite you to tune in to our annual Turkeys for Troops telethon throughout the day on Monday, November 12, 2018 on WUSA9. Tune in or donate online HERE.
3. Organize a Toy Supply and/or Wrapping Supply drive
Email holidayprograms@usometro.org to arrange a drop-off!
USO-Metro is in need of toys, gifts, and wrapping supplies to support our local military families through Project USO Elf! To find out more information on what popular toys we are collecting and how to host your own toy or wrapping supply drive, please contact holidayprograms@usometro.org. Our drop-off deadline is December 8, 2018!
