A Marine Family Recovers Together at USO-Metro
Patricia and Jimmy Ochan, a local United States Military family, explain what USO-Metro has meant to them throughout SGT (RET) Ochan’s service. From multiple deployments to rehabbing serious injuries, the Ochans were always able to escape daily stress when visiting USO-Metro centers. Whether it was participating in programs or coordinating events of their own, USO-Metro was always able to bring comfort to their situation.

Veteran Employment takes longer than expected: It took 53% of veterans longer than expected to find employment. It took 20% of veterans from 6 months to a year to find employment after their service, and 17% of veterans over a year to find employment after their service.**
USO-Metro Provides Valuable Skill Training to Transitioning Service Members
Project Next S.T.E.P. (Service Member Transition Education Program), a partnership with Booz Allen Hamilton and the Safeway Foundation, allows USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO Metro) to offer a variety of career education programs designed to prepare transitioning service members for in-demand civilian certification tests.
