About this Location

With roughly 15% of the military transitioning each year and 33% of the military relocating each year, USO recognizes the need to effectively increase the post-military career employment prospects for service members and support military spouses, who are constantly in transition due to their service member’s frequent change of duty stations. USO Transitions focuses these efforts in the following concentrations:

  • Employment Readiness
  • Employment Services
  • Family Transition
  • Stronger Spouses
  • Transition Skills Training

Based out of the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir, USO Transitions offers a variety of workshops, seminars, transition education programs, coffee connections, military spouse networking events, and more.

The USO Pathfinder® Transition Program extends the USO experience to active duty, Reserve, National Guard and military spouses by offering professional development services throughout the duration of the service member or military spouse’s career, as well as when they transition out of the military and settle into their new communities.

Want to be better prepared for future success before transitioning from the military? Are you a military spouse looking for new opportunities?

I enjoy the cooking group that comes in on Friday’s. I usually assist Jeremy in the preparation of their assignments before the program begins. I really enjoy the participants. These are active duty military members that are dealing with problems, and anything you can do to get them to smile or laugh... I really enjoy that, and love the interface with the soldiers that come in for it…. I’m a nurse by trade, so I’m just so used to dealing with people. I love that aspect of this position. It brings me joy.
